BOSS
Bharat Operating System Solutions Desktop Version 4.0 has been released by Shri Sachin Pilot, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Communications & Information Technology, in a function was held at Pondicherry Engineering College Auditorium, Puducherry, on Saturday, 26th February 2011.
The Hon'ble Minister has also inaugurated the BOSS Support Centre, Puducherry and the BOSS Lab-cum-FOSS R& D Centre in Pondicherry Engineering College.

and this new release of BOSS 4.0 comes with many new applications mainly focused on Security and User friendliness.
The distribution includes over 10352 new packages, for a total of over 29050 packages. Most of the software in the distribution has been updated: over 15436 software packages
- The major updates in BOSS GNU/Linux from the previous 3.0 Tejas release with this 4.0 savir version are :
